How To Add a Contact Relationship Type
This How to Guide details how to add a new Contact Relationship Type. These are used to tag the nature of a contact's relationship to the job i.e. the insurer, the tenant (for a tenanted property), an onsite manager, the loss adjuster etc. Individual contacts still need to be created. The relationship type is selected when the contact is added to the job.
1. Go to Administration
2. Under Contacts, click on Contact Relationship Types
3. Click Create Contact Relationship Type
4. Select the Contact Type. This dictates which section of the job the contact relationship type sits under.
See section below - Contact Types for a detailed run down of each option.
5. Give the relationship a name and a label. These can be the same.
6. Check the Active box
7. Save
Contact Types
The below details the different contact types relevant to contact relationships and their use.
Client: These are contacts related to the Instructing Client on the job, that are not internal employees of the Client. For example, the Client may be the insurer holding the policy, but there is a client contact for an external loss adjuster such as Sedgwick (or vice versa).
Contact Employee: These are contacts that are usually internal employees of the instructing client. Selecting them on the job denotes their relationship to the claim ie the case manager at the insurer. This requires contact employees to be linked to the Client under the main Contacts menu.
Contact Office: These are contacts to denote location relevant to the client ie a headquarters, or a regional office. This requires contact offices to be linked to the Client under the main Contacts menu.
Site Contacts: These are contacts relevant to the loss address who are not the main customer i.e. a tenant, onsite manager, or body corporate contact.
